Steph,
I'm sitting here crying my eyes out! I don't remember this picture of Misty. I miss her, too. What a wonderful tribute to her memory..this adorable book. I love it, and can't wait to read it to Haley. I think you've definitely found your niche! This could lead to another career for you! I'm glad you're finally through with it, so you can enjoy the weekend.
Love you,
Mama

Hi Stephanie,
Well I'll try again. I just typed a nice comment, but it didn't take. LOL, puters I'll never understand them.
Anyhow, I so enjoyed your little story, it was really sweet. You know that Rhonda, Roberts wife has written 3 childrens books. They are about the Famous Vidalia Onion Ambassador, Yumion, who travels around Georgia. They are great little books, you'll have to see if you can find them.
I know your Mom and Dad are proud of you and so am I. Now you'll have to write a series of books about all your cats, starting with "Stuff on Kramer", LOL.
Love ya honey,
Thanks for sending me your updates, I really enjoy looking at your blog.

Steph! Your literary creation is brilliant! I absolutely LOVED the story and the illustrations - all of your hard work was definately worth it. I can't wait to read this book to Luke; I'm going to try and print the pages and bind them so he can have a "hard copy."

It's awesome Steph!!

The story is great. The illustrations are even better!! Best of all are the expressions on the faces of Max and Mimi - they're perfect. They tell as much of the story as the actual words do.

Creativity, in my opinion, is the single most important quality that a teacher can possess, yet it's the single most uncommon to find! I know that such a blanket statement may offend those in your field, but I figure 18 years of experience with teachers/college professors makes me somewhat of an expert on the matter of "boring teachers", or at least it gives me the right to voice my opinion. Creativity, in addition to being an outward manifestation of a highly intellectual mind, is one of those unique qualities which sets apart the "good" teachers from the ones, those rare few, we'll remember for the rest of our lives. Steph, you'll be one of the latter, without a doubt.

Wow! You really did an awesome job Steph. I even showed it to Savanna and she was reading it too, she loves it. Great job!

Congratulations on your award sweetie! I can't wait to see you up on stage at "Arts in the Heart". Just think about everything that has happened in your life in the last six months - ASU Education Student of the Year, graduating from college, getting a job at Lakeside (getting your first check), and of course, having six more months with me!!! :) I LOVE YOU

Well I need to leave a comment here for a few reasons. First I want to congradulate you on this book, WELL DONE, you have taken on some big issues for children and yes adults too, and handled them with a profound simplicity. Secondly, I am curious about a lot of things as I read through your blog. I will speak to them in time, but my curiousity was peaked as you mentioned Nancy Sutherland. I am in "the field" and I did some referals to a Nancy Sutherland while she was here in Florida. I'm wondering if this is the same person. Is her background strickly education or does she have a counseling degree as well? Just wondering. Thank you again for the creative side of you.
